interview tips: clients

  1. Review the candidate’s resume prior to the interview. Sounds obvious but unbelievably overlooked.
  2. Have a sheet of questions. This is not a test. You can bring notes.
  3. Give specific examples of what a typical days looks like. Specific trumps general.
  4. Share the company’s values, mission and culture. Sell your company!
  5. Discuss possible career development plans associated with position.
  6. Describe your management style. How do you like to be communicated with?
  7. Answer candidate’s questions as thoroughly as possible. Not answering them looks like you’re hiding something.
  8. Listen!!!
