interview tips: candidates

  1. Research the company!
  2. Arrive no more than 5-10 minutes early unless stated beforehand. Arriving any earlier makes the interviewer feel rushed.
  3. Dress to impress. Find out the culture and dress slightly above that.
  4. Ask questions! Come prepared with questions. This is not a test. You can bring notes.
  5. Be prepared to answer typical questions like “What are your strengths?” But also be prepared for open-ended questions like “What makes you get up in the morning?”
  6. Bring samples of work, even if you’re not a creative. You’ve worked hard. Show ‘em what you’ve done!
  7. Ask for cards from each person you interview with and send them a Thank You. So over-looked yet so important!
  8. Listen!!!
